Okamiden Launch Trailer

By Mark

Back in 2006 when Okami hit the PS2 it quickly became a hit among many with it's striking art style and solid gameplay receiving considerable acclaim from many reviewers regardless of its poor sales.

The direct sequel to the title, Okamiden, is now upon us releasing in late September in Japan last year and right about now here in the UK and US. While the game has headed off to the DS it retains the appealing art direction, fun gameplay and sense of humour which you can see in the launch trailer.

Anarchy Reigns Mathilda Reveal Trailer

By Mark

The character reveals for Platinum Games online brawler keep on coming, this time showcasing Mathilda. This little lady goes into battle wielding the 'Iron Maiden' which is really best described by the game itself as a "collapsible whip that can transform into a giant bat". If that doesn't sound dangerous enough when it is in bat form it "generated countless beam spikes"

Anarchy Reigns is the latest title from the team that created Bayonetta and Vanquish. The title is looking to bring the archaic fast paced combat of a hack 'n' slash game to an online setting. It certainly makes for an interesting premise, we'll have to see how it all pans out.

Australian Mortal Kombat ban appeal rejected

By Jonny

Last month it was revealed that Mortal Kombat would not see the light of day in Australia. Then Warner Bros were quick to act and placed an appeal into the Australian classifications board defending their title.

The board deemed the title "unsuitable for persons aged under 18 years to play" (Australia does not have an 18+ rating) and Warner Bros declared that their game was no more violent than some other titles released in the territory.

It seems that the classification board did not agree with this statement and under their authority the game shall not be released in the country. Warner Bros have since replied to this announcement with the following message
"We're obviously extremely disappointed that the Refused Classification decision has been upheld by the Classification Review Board...We want to thank the thousands of Mortal Kombat fans in Australia and around the world who have voiced their support during the appeal process."

Battlefield 3 capable of 256 players online

By Jonny

According to DICE CEO Patrick Soderlund, Battlefield 3 is capable of supporting up to 256 players in its online multiplayer, which rivals the PS3 exclusive MAG. In an interview with Atomic Maximum Power Gaming, Partick gave the below statement.
"A lot of people ask us about 64 versus 128 or 256 players. Technically, we can go to 256, we've tried it. We play tested with 128. You've got to make a game that's fun to play and, arguably, we think that the most fun you can have is when it's between 32 and 40 players."
So even though Battlefield can support this crazy amount of people, I doubt we will see it in the final game, unless of course you play the PC version. Then I'm sure the community will work their magic.
