Germany Says NO! to Black Ops

By Mark

Ya really gotta feel sorry for certain regions when it comes to cencorship. The laws and rulings sometimes are just totally outrageous and pathetic, this being one of those times. Call of Duty: Black Op's being a military shooter went through hefty checks regarding the use of war sybols/nazi type affiliations/context etc and has resulted in an 'extremely' censored product.

One of the silliest things about this is the fact that even the Rolling Stones hit "Sympathy For The Devil" has been removed due to its content. As far as the PC version is concerned you'd think it'd be alrighty to just import the game from another European region but you'd be wrong, the only ones authorised to work through steam are those bought localised versions for Germany.

While not being affected by this, we as gamers ourselves have gotta agree that things like this are just plain fucked up. Hope it improves German gamers!
