The Witcher II - Special Editions Detailed

By Mark

CD Projekt RED have listed and detailed what to expect with the releases of The Witcher II. It may seem a little hectic but stick with me here. There will be the standard retail 'Premium Edition' which is essentially the standard normal version of the game except it comes with alot more than most games would. The extras being:

  • 'Making of' DVD
  • Soundtrack DVD
  • Manual
  • Game Guide
  • Map
  • A pamphlet representation of an in-game item
  • A coin
  • Two papercraft sheets
This will retail for $49.95, £34,95 or €49,95. So that's the standard edition of the game in retail form, however there will also be a digital version of this that will come with all the aforementioned items apart from the coin. The two papercraft sheets will be printable.

With me so far? Now comes the actual Collectors Edition and this again comes with all the aforementioned items along with:
  • A special DLC Jacket that boosts Geralt's swordfighting techniques
  • A big computer generated sculpture of Geralt's head
  • A 200 page hardcover artbook with glossy pages
  • Three stickers
  • A deck of The Witcher II themed playing cards
No price was given for this edition but you can't say that you don't get alot of additional swag. CD Projekt RED are certainly looking to make fans happy as GoG.com are offering a totally DRM free version of the game also. Aside from all of this there is the usual pre order incentive from select stores so be wary for where you purchase from.

Anyone thinking of picking The Witcher II up? Or are considering now? Let us know.
