Trials HD DLC - 'Big Thrills' Dated

By Mark

The latest DLC for the smash Xbox Live arcade game Trials HD entitled 'Big Thrills' has been dated for December 1st for only 400 Microsoft Points. Below you'll find a trailer showcasing some tracks but thats not all RedLynx have to say.

You see before Trials HD came about, RedLynx made some free and some paid for similar games simply called Trials. What they have done is compile all those older games up into one package 'Trials Legends' and they are offering this completely free for your PC Trials needs. All you must do is run on down to their Facebook page and 'Like' it and a link will be given to obtain the collection free of charge. How awesome is that?

Fans and modders can come up with some pretty sweet stuff and this is indeed one of those times, check out what this guy has made in Left 4 Dead. It's a representation of Helms Deep from Lord of the Rings. One word. Awesome. Imagine the work gone into this and the hours he spent, pretty crazy.

Portal 2 Delayed

By Mark

Game delays are nothing new to us as gamers but a lot of people really want Portal 2, maybe not as much as the next Half-Life instalment but still!

It's not that bad though really, the game has slipped from its February release to April 20th in North America and the 22nd for Europe. Check back for more information on the game as it comes.

The Witcher II - Special Editions Detailed

By Mark

CD Projekt RED have listed and detailed what to expect with the releases of The Witcher II. It may seem a little hectic but stick with me here. There will be the standard retail 'Premium Edition' which is essentially the standard normal version of the game except it comes with alot more than most games would. The extras being:

  • 'Making of' DVD
  • Soundtrack DVD
  • Manual
  • Game Guide
  • Map
  • A pamphlet representation of an in-game item
  • A coin
  • Two papercraft sheets
This will retail for $49.95, £34,95 or €49,95. So that's the standard edition of the game in retail form, however there will also be a digital version of this that will come with all the aforementioned items apart from the coin. The two papercraft sheets will be printable.

With me so far? Now comes the actual Collectors Edition and this again comes with all the aforementioned items along with:
  • A special DLC Jacket that boosts Geralt's swordfighting techniques
  • A big computer generated sculpture of Geralt's head
  • A 200 page hardcover artbook with glossy pages
  • Three stickers
  • A deck of The Witcher II themed playing cards
No price was given for this edition but you can't say that you don't get alot of additional swag. CD Projekt RED are certainly looking to make fans happy as GoG.com are offering a totally DRM free version of the game also. Aside from all of this there is the usual pre order incentive from select stores so be wary for where you purchase from.

Anyone thinking of picking The Witcher II up? Or are considering now? Let us know.

LotR: War in the North Untold Story

    By Mark

Here is a trailer of sorts trying to garner some sort of backstory for the upcoming Lord of the Rings game due out next year. There's not a whole lot to say really, more bad orcs and more humans/elves/dwarves that need to stop them. The game could be pretty interesting however.

    Lego Pirates of the Caribbean

    By Mark

The 'Lego' brand of games has come along way since Lego Star Wars titles, we've seen everything from Batman to Indiana Jones and now it would seem we are getting some Pirate lego love for the blockbuster films.

Development will be lead by TT Games for the publisher Disney and it will be set in the world of the films borrowing characters, story events and more from the established content. It's said that there will be over 20 levels, 70 playable characters and of course, two player co-op and the release window is May 2011 for the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, PC, PSP and DS.

Here is what TT Games Publishing MD Tom Stone had to say: "The action-packed world of Pirates of the Caribbean is a perfect fit for Lego video games,"

"With so many wonderful characters, in such amazing environments, our teams are having great fun - and we're sure that players will, too."

Nobuo Uematsu Composer for The Last Story

    By Mark

The Last Story already looked to be shaping up to be a fantastic game for the Wii especially with it being a JRPG. While the story and gameplay was in the most capable hands of Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi fans can now rest easy knowing that the music and original score will be handled by veteran composer Nobuo Uematsu.

The two worked together on older Final Fantasy games and more recently on Mistwalkers' 360 JRPG titles Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey and it is indeed welcome news that the two will be together once more on a game that looks really promising. The only thing I'm missing now is the option to keep the Japanese voice track, make it happen Mistwalker! Here's a trailer to see what I'm talking about.

The Force Unleashed II, Ewok Killing DLC

    By Jonny

Lucas Art have announced the first piece of DLC  for Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II via Twitter. Similar to the Hoth Bonus Mission DLC for The Force Unleashed before it, TFU II's Endor DLC will be an "infinite storyline", which basically means its a "What if?" scenario that takes place on Endor at the end of Return of the Jedi. There will also be new achievement's which is to be expected i suppose.

Now for the awesome part, just how much will the DLC set you back? well my friends it will cost you just one dollar, that's right just one measly dollar for people on XBLA and PSN. Here is the official statement on Twitter.

    WarDevil Manages to Live On!

    By Mark

You may have read not long ago that WarDevil, being developed by Ignition was canned along with some employees. While that news was indeed bad it appears that the game will still live on albeit under a new name and slightly shifted personell. The game has been revived by UTV Ignition and it's new name is 'Project Kane', this is what Hassan Sadiq (group chairman of UTV Ignition) had to say.

“Following a comprehensive audit of the title, assets and internal team, we have decided that a core team responsible for the Project Kane prototype will take the game into full production, led by the key vision holders,"

"There has been speculation recently about this project but our vision has always been to create top quality content both with internal and external partners and this latest commitment combines the best of the DNA behind the original project vision with some of the creative talent available in the broader industry. Outsourcing ensures flexibility and broader expertise that will dovetail perfectly with internal skill sets to speed up the process and ensure a title of true excellence."

The word is that the game is now scheduled for a Q4 2011 release. It's always great when this sort of thing happens, means all the prior hard work hasn't gone to waste, keep checking back for any more details on the newly named Project Kane!

New Vegas: Dead Money DLC Rolling In

    By Mark

The first DLC package for Fallout: New Vegas has finally been unveiled and it's entitled Dead Money. According to Bethesda you will play as a wastelander who has fallen foul of a bad deal and you'll find yourself with three others, trying to recover the treasure of the legendary Sierra Madre Casino. Here are some details:

"In Dead Money, your life hangs in the balance as you face new terrain, foes, and choices. It is up to you how you play your cards in the quest to survive," it adds.

"We're pleased to give fans a chance to expand their experience in Fallout: New Vegas this December with Dead Money," said Pete Hines, VP of PR and Marketing for Bethesda Softworks.

"The release of Dead Money illustrates our commitment to creating entertaining add-on content for players to enjoy in already massive games like Fallout: New Vegas."

Sounds pretty interesting and even more Fallout can't be a bad thing, lets just hope it's not as buggy as the launch of the game itself was!

Transformers: War for Cybertron Sequel Confirmed

    By Mark

Transformers:WfC didn't strike with me all that well if I'm honest, I felt it pretty clunky and repetitive campaign wise although the multiplayer had some potential but thats just me. The game seems to have done well enough with consumers that a sequel is being released in a vague 2012 window, the title was announced at Hasbro Inventors Day and it's likely that High Moon Studios will return to head development.

It was also announced that the MMO Transformers game will be coming overseas from Asia and that a movie tie-in game for the third film is also imminent. Did you guys enjoy War for Cybertron? Let us know.
